1. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a quote request, mailing in a console, or dropping off a device for repair at Good Geeks ("we," "us," "our"), you ("Customer") agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
2. SMS / Text Message Consent
When you check the SMS opt-in box on our intake form, you expressly consent to receive automated text messages from Good Geeks at the mobile number you provide. Messages relate to your repair only and may include:
- Check-in confirmation when we receive your device
- Diagnosis updates and quote notifications
- Repair progress and completion / pickup-ready alerts
- Shipping notifications when we ship a device back
Message frequency varies based on the status of your repair (typically 1–6 messages per ticket). Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Opt out anytime by replying STOP to any text. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at the email or phone number listed on our website. Opting out will stop SMS updates; we may still contact you by email or phone about your repair.
We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or any consent data with third parties for their marketing purposes. SMS data is used solely to operate your repair service.
3. Repair Warranty (1 Year)
Good Geeks warrants the specific parts we install and the labor we perform for one (1) year from the date marked "Completed" on your ticket. If a repair we performed fails under normal use within that period, we will re-repair the same issue at no additional parts or labor cost.
This warranty does NOT cover:
- Liquid or water damage of any kind, including humidity, sweat, condensation, spills, or submersion — even if it occurs after a successful repair.
- Accidental damage including drops, impacts, cracked housings, bent frames, broken ports, chewed cables, or pet damage.
- Damage caused by power surges, lightning, faulty outlets, third-party chargers, or unofficial accessories.
- Issues unrelated to the original repair (a new, separate failure on a different component).
- Software issues, firmware updates, account bans, or piracy-related lockouts.
- Cosmetic wear, scratches, dust under screens, and normal aging of components.
- Repairs performed, opened, or modified by anyone other than Good Geeks after our service.
- Devices with tamper-evident stickers or warranty seals removed or broken by the customer.
To make a warranty claim, bring or mail the device back with your original ticket number. Shipping to us for warranty claims is the customer's responsibility; return shipping after a covered warranty repair is on us.
4. Diagnostic & Quotes
Diagnostic fees, if any, are disclosed before work begins. Quotes are estimates based on the symptoms presented. If we discover additional issues during repair, we will contact you for approval before proceeding. You may decline additional work; in that case the device is reassembled and returned as-is.
5. Payment
Payment is due upon completion and before pickup or return shipping. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards. Unpaid devices left more than 60 days after we notify you of completion may be considered abandoned and disposed of or sold to recover costs, as permitted by Texas law.
6. Data & Privacy
We do not intentionally access user accounts, save files, or personal data on your device. However, repairs that involve mainboard, storage, or eMMC work may result in data loss. Customer is responsible for backing up any important data before service. Good Geeks is not liable for lost game saves, screenshots, captures, downloaded titles, or account information.
7. Mail-In Shipping
Customer is responsible for packaging the device safely and for shipping costs to Good Geeks. We are not responsible for damage that occurs in transit before the package arrives at our shop. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless covered under warranty.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Good Geeks's total liability for any claim related to a repair is limited to the amount paid for that specific repair. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data, lost income, or loss of use.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms at any time. The current version is dated at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
